Start with the offer, not a universal expiry rule
A banked reset waits in an eligible account until used or expired. OpenAI says eligibility and expiry depend on the promotion. Read the actual offer in Settings → Usage; do not assume every reset lasts the same number of days.
The weekly date can move
A full banked reset refreshes eligible windows and changes the weekly schedule. That means the old reset date is no longer a second refill to count on. Check the updated time after you resume work.
A practical comparison
Suppose your natural reset is close and your remaining allowance will cover your planned work. Waiting may preserve flexibility. If your next task would exhaust the remaining allowance, compare that gap with the saved offer’s expiry and your expected workload. This is a planning choice, not a guaranteed extra quantity of usage.
Do not confuse three different things
A banked offer is saved. An eligible instant purchase applies immediately. A global reset is applied by the provider to the accounts in its announcement. Seeing one type does not establish eligibility for the others.
